WonderWall: Tertiary Education

Question Tertiary Education

We gathered a bunch of students, teachers, workers, and bosses to get their honest opinions on the state of tertiary education in the UK. And here’s what they had to say.

Hi, I'm Steve from Opiner. We have another question for you and it's on the topic of tertiary education.

Now, in a slight change to our normal format, we aren't simply looking for your personal experience of tertiary education, but rather we're looking for your ideas around tertiary education and how potentially it could be changed and changed for the better. We're really interested in your thoughts on how good tertiary education is, what's working, what's not working, and then any ideas you might have for its transformation.

Now, it could be small-scale evolution or it could be wholesale revolution. We're absolutely open to all ideas. There is no right or wrong answer. The purpose of these videos is to spark creative thinking, to spark some fireworks. So, our challenge to you is, you know, if you could change tertiary education within the UK, what kind of things would you look at? What might be some of the benefits of changing those things? And also, at a slightly pragmatic level, you know, what might be some of the obstacles that would get in the way of changing those things? Now, as a slight change to our normal format, it's worth pointing out that your response will be seen by your peers and vice versa.

So, this is an open question and if you don't feel comfortable with that, please just skip this question. Equally, if you don't have ideas, and I find it hard to believe, but if you don't have ideas, you don't feel particularly comfortable talking around this topic, just hit the skip button as well and we'll bring in the next person and we'll put you to the top of the waiting list. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. This is exciting for us as we move beyond the simple, you know, what do you think to how might you design something better? And I'm really fascinated and really excited to see and hear what you have to say. Thank you. Rocking my sweet lockdown hair.
