Hi, my name's Harvey. I'm from Stroud.
I've been asked, what is a piner? How would I explain a piner?
So, a piner to me is a fantastic way of very quickly getting not just responses but considered and intelligent responses to questions that you have.
They're going to get you a more diverse crowd than just going out to a group that you know.
And you're also going to find people that you maybe wouldn't talk to.
I work in innovation. I find this really important that people actually understand one of their users and target markets.
Often people talk about, oh, we'll go to our customers. Well, your customers already know you, but how about people that don't know you?
So that's, for me, a really important perspective of a piner.
And I've used it actually quite extensively. I've used it with organizations to challenge their thinking.
I've used it with people to start thinking about, well, actually, this is the kind of person you wouldn't normally meet.
Especially when maybe somebody is a little bit like my age.
We don't tend to find we're in the same circles of maybe people just entering the workforce.
People maybe just having the sort of an income, disposable income that they can use.
So we've got to find out about them.
I also think it's a great way of asking challenging questions and a great way of getting real insights that you hadn't even thought about.
That diversity of thinking is so incredibly important.
And using this at the beginning of a project is going to give you that perspective.
Using it towards the end will help you to kind of refine what you're trying to say.
And will help you refine marketing messages, will help you refine the product launch, whatever it may be.
So I think a piner is fantastic.
And then I haven't even mentioned the fact that there's an awful lot of money that is generated from each respondent.
That is given to either good causes or to good initiatives.
And I think that's incredibly important. It's a value-based organization.
And I think that brings an authenticity that it's not just profit-making.
It's, yes, it might be profit-making, but it has a purpose behind it.
And I think that's incredibly attractive for people to use.
So that's my opinion. I think a piner is great. I wish you every success.
I think you're doing a great job, all the team.
And look forward to being involved in the journey.
Let's keep going.
