Hello, my name is Jacob. I'm from Cornwall and I'm going to be answering a question on what is Opiner. Really interesting timing because I had this exact conversation with one of my classmates this morning. You saw the notification pop up on my phone and sort of asked about it. And the way that I explained it to him is that it sort of fits into the category of market research, but it's not limited to market related stuff.
Anytime a company or a group of people wants to get an idea or a proposal or just a concept out to sort of the general population, they can do that through Opiner and then have the Opiners or the people who answer the questions sort of brainstorm for them and then send that back. And it's obviously market research is something that's really valuable, but it's something that I personally have seen represented negatively a lot.
Every time it's come into my sphere of influence, I've sort of seen it online with like Snapchat is stealing your data and selling it for a profit. And I think it can get a bad rep, but a Piner is the exact opposite end of the spectrum for that. So really a positive spin on it where it's beneficial for everyone involved. It's a lot more consumer friendly. I'd say it's also a lot more personal.
But yeah, in terms of who I'd actually recommend Opiner for in terms of companies, it can just anyone who has a question that they sort of want to get a general gist of what people will think about it. That's what Opiner is for. You know, any time if you have a product that you want to know what people would think of or you have an idea for how you could change the way that your company is run or if you have if you just want to get an idea of people's political opinions or just understand sort of the general human experience.
Like one of the first questions that I answered was actually to do with Covid and just how people were reacting to it. And it was a really good way of getting this information from a wide body of people on how different communities were responding to it. And you can really collect a lot of information in a short amount of time, really efficient and really useful for that.
And it's also a lot more sort of diverse than you would expect, because obviously you can get from a lot of different categories of people. And the way I explain it to my friend is that it's sort of like like when companies have a focus group where, you know, you would usually gather people around the table and then ask them a question and they're supposed to represent the general public.
And then you can just have some people chime in with their opinions rather than 10 people in person. You know, you can send out to hundreds of people online. It's a lot more efficient in terms of who is answering the questions. I'd recommend it to really anyone. It's not really limited to any demographic, which is the beauty of a pioneer. But, yeah, that's my take on it.
