Hi, I'm Alice and I'm going to university in Liverpool. I recently watched a TED talk that got me thinking about new innovations and using alternatives to solve problems. The talk was about using binder clips as a substitute for expensive scalp clips used in surgery. A doctor in India couldn't afford the expensive scalp clips, so he used binder clips instead, as they served the same purpose. It saved him a lot of money. This made me realize the importance of thinking outside the box and using what's already available, even if it's from a different field. It's not a groundbreaking new design, but it's a clever way of utilizing existing resources. I found it to be quite impressive.
