Hi, I'm Amy and I'm in my fourth year at the University of Bristol studying Geography with Innovation and I'm originally from London. An innovation that's caught my eye recently is one called Desserto, which is basically a company that have produced a cruelty-free leather alternative, so without harming animals, and they've basically created this leather from cactus leaves. Well, I think this is a really great innovation because not only is it not harming animals but it's also not using plastics because a lot of companies that try to recreate leather without using animals will turn to plastics to get the sort of desired shiny kind of look to it, so using cactus leaves is a really sort of creative approach, which I thought was a really good idea, and it's a plant that's grown in abundance in Mexico and also requires very minimal amounts of water to grow, so it's basically really environmentally friendly as well as creating a more ethical leather alternative.
