Hi, I'm Harvey Wade from near Winchester and I've been asked about my thoughts on tertiary education. I have a lot of thoughts on this topic. My daughter is about to enter secondary school age and my son is a couple years younger. We have always had a different perspective on education, inspired by Ken Robinson who talked about schools killing creativity.

I think tertiary education is a fascinating conversation. As we move into the future, it will be completely different. One important aspect is teaching resilience and adaptability, not being fixed on a certain mindset. I believe we should focus on what it means to be human in a world where AI and machines are taking over traditional tasks. What does that mean for us? What should education look like?

To me, education is about finding a passion for learning and continuous learning. It's about driving quality in that passion, not just teaching skills but finding ways to improve and use those skills. It's important to be able to change and move to something else.

In tertiary education, curiosity is key. Collaborating and learning from others is crucial. Diversity, especially diversity of thought and approach, is essential. Tertiary education should emphasize collaboration, leadership, and team working.

I believe that tertiary education should be less about finding a job and more about becoming the kind of human society needs to bring us to the next level.

These are my ideas on tertiary education. Thank you.

Harvey
