Hi, my name's Jamie. I go to the University of Bristol and I'm originally from London.
So my awesome innovation is BeeWise and this is an artificial intelligence beehive that kind of tries to keep the population of bees a bit more intact essentially as 40% of the population die per year.
So what it does, it has real-time kind of like problem alerts so when there's an issue with the hive, the owner of the hive will get a notification about what's wrong with it so they can come and check on it. There's also pest controls so the internal system will kind of release pesticides when there's an issue, when there's pests like an incoming of pests.
There's automated harvesting so when a colony is full, the owner will be notified and they'll be able to go down and simply and easily harvest the honey. There's also autonomous swarm prevention so when a colony may be preparing to swarm the hive, the hive will automatically adjust the conditions of the hive to prevent this.
So it has loads of internal systems to try and essentially keep bees alive. So yeah, I thought that was really cool.
